On Sunday, my boyfriend and I took Arthur to meet Charlie, the 90 lb, year-old, Great Dane-and-something mix who was adopted into my mom's household recently. We call him "Charlie Horse."
There was a meet-and-greet with a lot of tail wagging, and then Charlie tried to assert his dominance and stand on Arthur. So they were separated. Charlie went into his pen while Arthur got to go inside with the humans. Doesn't quite seem fair, but for the time being, that's how it goes. Poor Charlie - he was just trying to establish that it was his house.
I think in time, everything will be A-okay.
Arthur is cautiously optimistic.
