Rescue Update - Tito the Collie

Wow. Remember Tito? I first wrote about him on Feb. 13 when he had a lot more fur. Tito was picked up as a stray a few weeks ago with big chunks of his fur missing, and I suspect that the easiest way to get rid of all the mats and deal with some probable skin issues was to shave it all off. He doesn't look too upset about it.

It reminds me of our family shih tzu, Taisho, who got a buzz cut every summer to keep him cool, which would have been ridiculous enough in itself except that we also had a groomer with a sense of humor who would leave the fur on his head intact so he looked like a lion with a rat body.

He would mope around humiliated for a few hours, but then kind of get over it and actually revel in his fur-free situation. I think it felt pretty good. I hope Tito feels the same although he really looks like he needs a sweater.

Poor guy. At 12 years old, he's been through a lot. He needs a rescuer!
