Today's Rescue - Burly

Burly was one of the dogs in yesterday's rescue post - a 7-year-old pointer mix at the South L.A. shelter Annex who looked so sad and scared in her photo, crouched in her cage like an animal in a laboratory.

But then these new pictures taken by a shelter volunteer popped up on the pet-community boards late in the day, and Burly looks like a totally different dog: happy, playful and so pretty. It's amazing how the dogs change when they're taken outside on the grass and given a little attention.

Burly has been at South L.A. since the beginning of July, and she is redlisted. She is now back in her cage and needs to be adopted ASAP. Every day she remains there is literally a gamble.
