Today's Rescue - Shelter Veterans

If you go to the L.A. Animal Services Web site and do a general dog search of all the shelters, the first few pages of dogs that come up are all senior returns: older guys that for whatever reason (owners died, got divorced, didn't want to deal with vet bills, etc.) are back in the shelter. These dogs started out there, and got dumped back years later. In my book, that ranks right up there with bilking Enron workers of their retirement savings and then laughing about it.

Well, maybe not quite, but it's close.

Adopt an older dog today!
