How is it that Arthur has the decency to look guilty when he's filthy, while my dogs look like they've just cured cancer?!?
Arthur can be made to feel guilty for just about anything - simply lower your voice and say his name slowly: Oh, Ar-thur. Then he lowers his head and looks miserable, even if he's done absolutely nothing. Perhaps he was Catholic in another life.
But you're right, on this occasion, he was dirty and he knew it. I caught him trying to sneak past me en route to the living room rug. I just raised my eyebrows and he sat down.
