Sometimes, for whatever reason, Arthur doesn't make a good egg (see post on May 8). If he doesn't get a good tuck going right from the beginning, he can't get his back legs around far enough to complete the ovoid, if you will. The result looks like a rather half-hearted attempt. Perhaps he's going for more of a potato shape. Or perhaps his attentions don't really lie in the details.
