Today's Rescue

Sometimes I wonder about Arthur's early days in South Central L.A. before he was abandoned: who his family was; if he had brothers and sisters; what kind of life he had. He was one of the lucky dogs picked up at a shelter by a private agency and shopped around at weekend pet-store adoption events to potential buyers. My sister and brother-in-law actually saw his picture online, and went down to Petco or Centinela Pet and Feed or some such place to have a look at him. And of course, he won them over right away.

But so many dogs are not so lucky. For whatever reason, a lot of the animals at city and county shelters don't get picked by the agencies, and it's not like they're the rejects. There are just too many.

But don't let guilt be your motivator. See for yourself how great these shelter dogs are!
