Spay/Neuter News
The California Healthy Pets Act (AB 1634) passed through the Assembly Appropriations Committee Wednesday morning in Sacramento! According to the California Healthy Pets Coalition, nearly 350 advocates (including veterinarians and animal control officers) showed up at the hearing, and thousands more submitted letters to their Assemblymen to show their support. But it's not over yet.
The bill goes before the full Assembly sometime before June 8th, and if it passes, will then be placed on the Governor's desk. If you support this legislation and haven't yet written a letter to your Assemblyperson, it's not too late.
For more information (including the full text of the bill, a list of supporting organizations, letter of support templates and a legislator locator), go to the California Healthy Pets Act official Web site at: http://www.cahealthypets.com/
