Today's Rescue - Camarillo Dogs
The Ventura County animal shelter in Camarillo has an interesting adoption policy for a municipal shelter - they require adopters to verify that the adoptee will not be made a guard or "yard" dog, and for some animals, depending on breed or past behavioral history, they require a completed adoption application and subsequent home check. Imagine if that was the policy in Los Angeles! They would need a staff of thousands.
Anyway, my mom has been dragging my grandma down there to stroll the aisles occasionally in the hopes of finding a match for Charlie, her fiance's gigantic great dane/lab. Her last favorite was an undernourished grey pit bull named Jimmy, but he kind of freaked out my grandma.
The search continues.
